Welcome to the Home Rule Club. The Club was formed in 1894 to support the Irish Home Rule movement which aspired to self government within Ireland. Today, the Club has no affiliations to any political party and is used as a social club.

The club opens at 8.30pm from Tuesday to Sunday every week. You don’t have to be a member to come in and enjoy a drink, have a game of darts or just watch TV. The members are a friendly bunch and there is always a good atmosphere. The Club is situated at No 3 Johns Quay in Kilkenny which is close to Johns Bridge and the new Lady Desart Bridge.

It is a three storey building. On the ground floor is the bar area. On the first floor, there are snooker rooms and also a room which can be used for party’s, meetings etc. See Venue option in the menu for more information.

We have 2 snooker tables which are in top class condition. It costs €4 per hour to play. The tables are for members but it only costs €10 per year to join. In the bar area, you can play darts, watch television or just converse with other drinkers!

There is easy listening music every Saturday night, with no cover charge
